Everyone has different reasons why they want to undergo breast augmentation. Just know that you are not alone in this. Breast augmentation in Michigan, one of the most common cosmetic surgeries performed by Dr. Andrew Lofman, involves enlarging the breast size. Dr. Lofman is a highly skilled plastic surgeon who specializes in breast augmentation. In fact, he has performed thousands of procedures over his career.
He certainly has the technical experience needed to provide patients with beautiful results; he also knows how important it is to put his patients’ minds at ease when facing this type of surgery. It’s no secret that a woman has deep rooted feelings about her breasts and how they relate to her femininity. Any decision about changing the shape of the breasts is not one to be taken lightly. That’s why Dr. Lofman places such a big importance on education and stress-free consultations.
There are several reasons why women decide to undergo breast augmentation, from existing breast size and asymmetry to poor shape and droopiness. (Please note, results vary by patient.)
Types of Breast Implants
Silicone implants, FDA-approved for use in women over the age of 22, comprises a silicone shell filled with a thick gel. Known for its natural appearance and feel, this type of implant comes with a lower risk of rippling, ideal for those who are very thin or who are having breast re-construction.
Saline breast implants are also backed by the FDA, but can be used in women older than 18. Comprised of a silicone shell, saline implants contain a saltwater solution. This solution can safely be absorbed into the body in the event of rupture. And because the doctor fills saline breast implants only after they are inserted, the surgeon is able to make a tinier cut for reduced scars.
Dr. Lofman will go over the benefits and risks of each kind of breast implant during your consultation.
