Dr. Andrew Lofman is starting a new series in which he walks us through the entire process of deciding whether plastic surgery is right for you, and what to expect during the following recovery period. The first procedure he wanted to focus on was Breast Augmentation and Lift for Breast Ptosis and Asymmetry.
FROM DR. LOFMAN:
A 26 year old female came to my office with very asymmetric breasts. She was very self conscious about her look. She had a tuberous breast deformity with a constricted inframammary fold. Her goal was more natural and symmetric breasts. She wore a B cup bra and wanted to fit into a full C cup bra. I performed a bilateral breast augmentation with a 350cc High Profile Silicone Gel implant on her right side, and a 300cc Moderate Plus Profile Silicone Gel implant on her left side. I placed both implants in a submuscular plane. I performed a circumareolar breast lift at the same time.
Day 1 of seeing the patient.
Post operative day 6. Good overall symmetry of the implants. Her Nipple-areolar complexes had some asymmetry but she was thrilled.
Post operative day 13. Her Right implant is still a little higher than the left. Her incisions are healing very well. She was instructed to massage the right implant in a downward direction.
3 months post op. She is very pleased with her results. I feel that I could have used a slightly larger implant for her right side, however she is very happy about this level of symmetry. There is no evidence of her previous tubular deformity. Her scars are healing very nicely.
10 months post op. Her breasts are very natural looking. She is a size C cup. There is no evidence of her previous tubular deformity or her constricted folds. She does have a bit more glandular ptosis on her left side. I look at this as a great success for this type of preoperative deformity.
